2 day safari – Tsavo East Park – Ngutuni Reserve

2 Days

Overview

Situated within a private wildlife sanctuary near Tsavo East National Park, Ngutuni Safari Lodge offers a traditional and unassuming safari lodge experience against the backdrop of Sagala Hills. Guests can relish sweeping views of the 10,000-acre wilderness from the expansive deck of the restaurant and bar, or from the private verandas attached to each room. Positioned just in front of the lodge, a water hole provides remarkable opportunities for observing animals as they visit to drink, both day and night.

Accommodations are arranged in blocks, all oriented towards the water hole and expansive plains of the sanctuary. Each lodging features a modest balcony and cozy sleeping quarters. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives, with the option to unwind and allow the wildlife to approach at your leisure.

Itinerary

Commence your journey from your village or private residence at approximately 6:30 am aboard a 4x4 jeep, complete with a sunroof to enhance animal viewing opportunities.

Pause briefly for breakfast before continuing towards Tsavo East Park. Along the way, traverse authentic villages showcasing mud-built houses typical of Tsavo's red soil, as well as picturesque forests and sprawling plantations.

Arrive at the Sala Gate entrance around 10:30 am. Prior to entering the park, pause at a refreshment point where you can disembark to admire crocodiles and playful monkeys along the Galana River's banks.

Upon completion of entry formalities, embark on your initial photo safari in search of the park's abundant wildlife, including big cats, elephants, waterbucks, zebras, giraffes, and more.

At 1:00 pm, arrive at the "VOI SAFARI LODGE" for a buffet lunch and relaxation by the pool, offering a magnificent vista of the savannah and close-up views of animals at a nearby waterhole.

Depart at 4:00 pm for another photo safari towards Ngutuni Reserve, where you'll enjoy a sunset stop amidst the savannah for aperitifs and photo opportunities.

Check into NGUTUNI SAFARI LODGE around 6:30 pm, followed by a buffet dinner. At 9:00 pm, accompanied by a ranger, embark on a thrilling night game drive, offering a glimpse of nocturnal wildlife activity.

Return to the lodge around 10:00 pm for an overnight stay.

Begin the day at dawn with a morning game drive, ideal for observing predators on the hunt in the cooler temperatures of dawn and dusk.

Return to the lodge around 7:30 am for breakfast, check-out, and depart at 8:30 am for the final photo safari towards the park exit.

Outside the park, enjoy lunch at GALANA CROCODILE CAMP, situated by the Galana River's banks, providing safe viewing of elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and other shoreline wildlife.
